| Always interested in new technologies or innovations in the industry, GSI undertook a survey in Dublin Bay with the latest Kongsberg Simrad innovation - the ConCat. This tiny nearshore marine survey vessel is a Catamaran, that when packaged, fits neatly into a 40ft container for convenient onward transportation! |  |
ConCat is fitted with Kongsberg's standard navigation and surveying equipment calibrated for optimum performance. GSI commissioned the vessel for a one week survey in Dublin and Dun Laoire ports. She was mobilised on Thursday 25th March and left for a demonstration programme in America early in April. GSI together with the Marine Institute and IMAR Survey staff provided crew for the vessel. The data that have been collected are of exceptionally high quality and are currently undergoing in-house QC in GSI.
